Salim S. Virani, MD, Ph.D., is a Professor in Cardiology and Director of Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. His clinical practice includes being a Preventive Cardiologist. Dr. Viranis research aims to understand several domains in the delivery of high-quality primary and secondary cardiovascular disease preventive care via funded research from the VA, ADA, AHA, and the World Heart Federation. He has authored or co-authored more than 350 peer-reviewed publications and also served as a panel member for the 2018 AHA/ACC Cholesterol Guideline and the 2019 ACC/AHA guideline for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease.
