CPE for Past FNCE® Events
Logging CPEU from In-person FNCE® (2019-2023)
When logging CPE from past Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo® in person events, log each educational session, activity or event individually—not the conference as a whole. There are multiple learning formats offered throughout the conference. These formats correlate with different activity types, set forth by CDR:
- 170 – Lecture/Seminar
- 130 – Exhibits*
- 180 – Posters*
Each format uses this CPE Certificates to log CPEUs. *A maximum of 15 CPEU for RDs/RDNs and 10 CPEU for DTRs/NDTRs may be claimed for activity types 130 and 180 during the 5-year recertification cycle.
CPEU for FNCE® Sessions
Performance Indicators have been assigned to each FNCE® session. This information is subjective, so select those that best correlate with your Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) needs.
Sessions (Activity Type 170) should be listed separately. Include the session title, activity number and date in the certificate template. The activity number for each session can be found on the day-at-a-glance listing as well as on the session descriptions. One (1) CPEU is equivalent to a one-hour educational session.
E.g. a one-hour session = 1.0 CPEU
CPEU for Exhibits and Posters for FNCE®
To log CPEU for exhibits and posters, complete the date and amount of time spent in the Expo Hall.
Exhibits (Activity Type 130) do not need to be listed separately. One may record several exhibits that relate to the same Learning Needs Code or Performance Indicator as one event on your Step 4 Activity Log. For example, logging exhibits viewed on a given day at FNCE can be logged as “FNCE Exhibits”.
One half (0.5) CPEU is equivalent to 1/2 contact hour (30 minutes).
E.g. Engaging with poster presenters for 30 minutes = 0.5 CPEU
E-Posters (Activity Type 180) do not need to be listed separately. One may record several posters that relate to the same Performance Indicator as one event. For example, logging e-posters viewed on a given day at FNCE can be logged as “FNCE Poster Sessions”. One half (0.5) CPEU is equivalent to 1/2 contact hour (30 minutes).
E.g. Engaging with exhibitors for 30 minutes = 0.5 CPEU
Logging CPEU from the FNCE® Virtual Option (2019-2023)
When logging CPE from the FNCE® 2023 Virtual Option, log each educational session or activity individually, not the conference as a whole. The virtual option offers two learning formats that correlate with different activity types, set forth by CDR:
- 171 – Live webinar/teleseminar
- 180 – Posters*
*A maximum of 15 CPEU for RDs or RDNs and 10 CPEU for DTRs or NDTRs may be claimed for this activity type during the 5-year recertification cycle.
CPEU for Virtual Sessions and E-posters
CPE certificates for virtual live sessions (Learning Code 171) and e-posters (Learning code 180) will be available directly through the virtual platform.

Logging CPEU from Session Recordings
When logging CPE from the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo® session recordings, log each educational session or activity individually, not the conference as a whole. If you purchased the package of FNCE® session recordings, the sessions and certificates will be available to access via the Academy's Learning Management System 4-6 weeks following the conference.

Professional Development Portfolio
Attendees should record each session attended on their Learning Activities Log and complete a Certificate of Attendance Form for each session attended. Attendees can download copies of the attendee CPE certificates above. These forms may be duplicated if additional copies are needed. Separate forms are also included to record exhibits and poster sessions. Attendees are responsible for keeping their completed forms with their portfolio materials in case of audit. Please follow all policies as stipulated in the Professional Development Portfolio Guide.
State Licensure or Certification
Attendees should complete a Certificate of Attendance Form for each session attended if their State Regulatory Board requires a certificate of attendance to maintain licensure or certification. Attendees should keep a record of the sessions they attend and make duplicate copies for portfolio and/or licensure requirements as needed.
